~*~ DRAMATIS PERSONAE ~*~

Character art by Dante Saunders.

Zane Forde

First Appearance: Prologue

Zane is the pilot and in-name-only captain of the Songbird. Scatterbrained, easily confused and marginally insane, but also deeply loyal to the crew and fiercely protective of them.

Physical Appearance: Average height, scrawny build, pale skin, dirty blonde hair, heterochromatic eyes (left orange, right blue). Typical outfit consists of antique-style bomber jacket and aviator’s cap, worn over military surplus fatigues in varying states of disrepair.

Jayna Kosta

First Appearance: Prologue

Jayna is the muscle and the mama bear of the ship–she keeps the boys in line and acts like a big sister to the c rew. Responsible for the navigation and inventory of Songbird. Uses her fists and her feet more than she likes using plasma or slug weapons.

Physical Appearance: About 7-feet-enough and built like a brick house–Jayna is *big.* She is the muscle of the group and nobody has any doubts when it comes to that. Dark hair and bronzed skin, she is a lover of sunshine, and whenever they are on colder planets she’s still wearing t-shirts and embracing what little sun is to be found.

Ashlar “Ash” Wright

First Appearance: Prologue

Ash is the  mechanic responsible for making sure Songbird doesn’t break apart. He holds it together lovingly with curse words, blood, and tears, and a lot of ingenuity. He’s also not bad at tinkering together little contraptions that can make the whole crew’s lives a lot easier. A bit of a charmer, but if a gun would do what words fail to do, he’s not mad about it.

Physical Appearance: About 5’10 and athletic with dark skin that is always smeared with some form of oil or grime. He typically is wearing coveralls and not much else. He doesn’t really care if he’s falling into streotypes, but coveralls make sure any clothes he actually likes don’t get covered in grease.

Mari Naoki

First Appearance: Episode 1: Hello Nurse

A petite ball of sass that is also the best chance at making sure the crew of Songbird makes it to a hospital in one piece. She is a registered nurse they picked up from Raulin. She’s quick on her feet and resourceful–but the fact that this is hte first treal time she’s done any space travel makes her kind of naive to the way things work out in the infinite black.

Physical Appearance: 5′ or so and about 100 pounds with a rock in her pocket. She is petite and has dark purple hair that falls down to mid-shoulders. Most comfortable in a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and her lab coat.

Luisa

First Appearance: Episode 12 – We Be Legend

Small and feisty, Luisa grew up on the streets of the resort moon Oxomo, where she learned to be quick with her wits, make whatever she could out of whatever she she could scrounge, and take no guff from anybody. These skills all proved invaluable when her home city came down with a minor case of vampire mutants. After resolving that situation, she insinuated herself into the crew of Songbird, where she serves as Ash’s assistant and general gofer in making sure everything sticks together.

Physical Appearance: Five feet and change, slightly taller than Mari (much to Mari’s annoyance), too pale and too scrawny for her age, owing to her upbringing, and dresses in whatever comfortable scraps of clothing she can scavenge.

~*~ PERSONA NON GRATA ~*~

Johnny Deuce

First Appearance: Episode 1: The Man in White

A mercenary from Zane’s past who is equal parts narcissist and sociopath. He will stop at nothing to perform the job he got paid for and would like everyone to know it. People who end up crossing paths with Johnny either die or live to regret it.

Physical Appearance: Roughly 6′ even, lean and athletic, with dark hair. He’s got one dark brown eye and one ice blue. Always seen wearing a immaculately pressed all white suit.
