How We Got Here

You might ask how this all began.

I kind of doubt that you will, but you might. In any case, I’m gonna tell you anyway, so nyah.

It was an average evening, some years ago. It was not long ago that me and Angi had first gotten together. There’s a long story behind that, and I won’t bore you with it, but suffice it to say, she was helping me through a very dark time in my life. And I can never thank her enough for that. But you’re not here to hear me gush about how much I love my ladyfan.

One night, I was lamenting to her that I hadn’t written anything in quite some time, and I worried that I didn’t have it in me to be a writer anymore. Her response?

“Hey, let’s start writing something.”
“What, right now, we can’t just-”
“Sure we can. I just saw that new* Sherlock Holmes movie, I wanna do something like that.”
“But we can’t just-”
“I’ll just get us started on that!”
“…okay.”

(*This being the first Robert Downey Jr. Holmes movie, which I remain quite fond of.)

Thus began our first collaborative effort, a project that we continue to tinker with to this day, and which, hopefully, you all will someday get to read the complete version of. And it just kind of snowballed from there, messing with several different projects, one of which will be seen around these parts sooner rather than later, if all goes as planned.

It’s been an interesting journey. I don’t know how it’s going to go, but I do know that none of this would have been possible without Angi. Throughout all of this, she has been my muse.

And I think that’s a good place to end this blog post. I think I feel a gush coming on. Run while you still can.
